Turn the Paige is an interesting romance, one that could fall into several tropes mainly enemies-to lovers, and maybe high school crushes as well. There is definitely some animosity between Paige and Nick when she first arrives at her Grandmother’s house. Yet, in time we’ll get to understand the reasons behind those tensions.I’m not a huge fan of first person point of view – I like to get in the heads of both people who make up a couple – but it worked very well for this story as much of what is happening is completely up to Paige to figure out and deal with her own issues.I fell in love with Nana. And you will, too… even if she is a bit unorthodox. You’ll see. We get to meet Nick’s sister Sara and his nephew, Kyle as well as a good friend Ellie. I mention these ladies as it’s more than likely that we will see them again in this series… I know the next story Single by Design is Sara’s story, so Ellie is sure to follow at some point. All of the characters, main and secondary, were believable and realistic in their reactions to issues and situations.There is some language, and sexy moments indicated but behind closed doors. Turn the Paige is all about one woman’s discovery of who exactly she really is at the core. She faces some challenges, some surprises, and unexpectedly finds love along the way. I enjoyed myself in this world and will definitely be following the series to see what happens next. I would recommend this one to any Rom-Com, Contemporary Romance readers or simply someone who loves a happy ending and two people connecting on that deeper, lifelong level.I own a Kindle edition of Turn the Paige
This was a delightful read. Nana is a hoot but her love and concern for her granddaughter will make you wish you had a Nana in your life. Paige struggles to get her life in order and will make you root for her all the way. Nick is swoon-worthy not just because of his looks but also his goodness and decency. Nick’s nephew is adorable and his sister always has his back. You’ll laugh and cry with these characters and fall in love with all of them. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Such a fun, light read. This is a story about an over loaded, successful woman finding herself. I liked it because she didn’t sacrifice her career to find herself- which is a big problem for me with some books. I had a crush on Nick, and the writing was clever. I recommend this book.
In this first book of the series Love Hurts you get to know Paige and Nick. She has been so focused on her career in medicine she forgot to live. But after the death of her beloved nana she has been charged to reevaluate her life. Her mama's ghost is there to nudge her in the right direction. And with a little help from her school bully next door. This was a fun read about second chances and how to really make your life worth living.
A lighthearted "reconnecting with bratty boy from childhood" story, with great writing, a heroine that's relatable, and a hero who's appealing. The kid stays out of gag-me Family Circus "cuteness" and it's a good ending that doesn't involve anyone's huge & unrealistic sacrifice. The grandmother was a character, despite her death, but I found her "return" a bit jarring, but those moments were brief. Worth reading!
This book is one of the most delightful books I have had the pleasure of reading in a very long time. Just kept me laughing out loud. The characters are quirky to say the least and the author pulls the reader right in as part of the insanity! The whole thing is topped off with such a sweet love story. You will really enjoy the ride!
Paige and Nick make an interesting and sweet couple. The story has a few good twists and pulls into the book.
Loved this book! Laugh out loud because the situations were REAL, well maybe not the ghost part, but the falling off the ladder part and serenading in the hospital part...haven’t enjoyed a book this much in a long while. Thank you!
