About the Author
Dr. Suzanne M. Miller was raised near Washington, DC and studied history and science at Harvard College. While attending Harvard Medical School, she began admissions consulting as a Harvard pre-medical tutor and then co-chair of the Eliot House Pre-Medical Committee. After receiving her MD, she trained at Stanford University in emergency medicine.Dr. Miller continues to work as an emergency physician and professor both nationally and internationally while running MDadmit, a medical admissions consulting service. She is also proud to lead the successful MDadmit Admissions Bootcamps. Dr. Miller enjoys teaching, traveling internationally, and serving as a physician for Racing the Planet adventure races, activities that have allowed her to make footprints on seven continents.

As far as I am concerned, this book is a must-read for anyone applying to medical school. I purchased mine about 4 months before I actually applied. It was so unbelievably helpful throughout every stage of applying--writing the essays, going on interviews, sending follow up letters--and was probably more helpful to me than my pre-med office.The book can't make miracles happen, of course; you need the grades, scores, and extracurriculars on your resume to start. Still, this book was extremely helpful for me in learning how to best present myself so that admissions committees could see what a great addition to their class I would be. I credit Dr. Miller's book with helping me learn how to market myself.
OK, so I'm still 2 years out on my pre-med program, but this book as pointed the way for me to get going on med school. I see a lot of the seniors in my program making fundamental mistakes. Waiting until the last minute to take the MCAT, start the application process, getting references, and OH Gee, didn't get a call back from any of their top 5 schools .... wonder why? With the help of this book, I'll already have my acceptance letter(s) before I walk for my undersgrad graduation.
As a non-traditional candidate, I felt that I could use some expert advice on how to make my application stand out. After extensive research, I came across Dr. Suzanne Miller’s book. I greatly benefited form Dr. Miller’s wisdom she shared in her book in several respects: it made me re-evaluate my application, emphasize some key aspects in my secondary essays, and overall bring across my path to medicine in a more compelling way. When I received an invitation to interview, I felt more prepared for the process ahead of me, and more confident in my candidacy. Dr. Miller’s book contains a wealth of invaluable and insightful information to help pre-meds navigate through the application process. I would highly recommend reading it.

Not only is the advice spot on, but it is presented in a clear and easy-to-follow format, which helps alleviate the stress of figuring out how to best allocate precious time and effort. I strongly recommend for any aspiring physician!
This is a great overview for anyone applying to medical school. This book has been especially helpful since I am no longer in college and do not have access to many of the resources (e.g. faculty/counselors) that undergraduate students can tap.
Came in great condition. The book itself was very helpful with my application. I didn't follow step by step due to time constraints, but the advice I did follow was enough to get me into the school I wanted.
This book is absolutely incredible. Every student pursuing medical school should buy this book. It is helpful in every way, even if you already know a lot about the Admissions Process. It gives you steps in detail in how to go about doing anything, for example: asking for a letter of recommendation, studying for the MCAT, writing the personal essay for Medical School etc. The book even has a schedule for every week of every month, everything is laid out for you, you save an incredible amount of time!
This is great as a guide to keep you on track and remind you when you should be starting different parts of the application. The examples were also very helpful, but made me feel inadequate.... But it makes sense that the examples she chose for her book were from outstanding applicants.
