About the Author
Jim Mulholland was raised in the conservative Christian evangelical tradition of altar calls and revivals. Seminary trained, he pastored Methodist and Quaker congregations in the Indianapolis area for over twenty-five years. He wrote three best-selling books on practical theology - Praying Like Jesus, If God Is Love, and If Grace Is True - and has been a popular public speaker. This has really helped me come to terms with what I am leaving behind, and it is helping me understand that I can move on to a better place. So much insight and understanding, Mr. Mulholland really knows what he is talking about and how to help.If you are in doubt about buying this book watch his speech about his experience leaving his religion, it is on youtube and well worth your time if you are nearing or in a faith transition. .
This is an OUTSTANDING book! It touches on the real issues that you have when walking away from religion, it is not atheist driven, just getting out and finding new paths, the peaks and pitfalls. A must read for anyone interested in a road map to a world without religion. Written in a very positive tone, a pleasure to read.
My wife and I were raised Mormon/LDS. This book has been an indispensable part of our transition away from that religious tradition. At first we had a hard time knowing how to live outside of Mormonism, the only life path we had ever experienced. Reading this book together, as a couple, and discussing the issues, has helped us immensely as we have embarked on a new journey. The book is full of useful tips and I highly recommend it.
